Tips To Find Motivation!

Can’t seem to find the motivation to get off the couch and start working on your goals? Fear not, my fellow procrastinators, I’ve got some witty tips to help you find the motivation you need!

1. Bribe yourself: Let’s be real, if we could all be bought with money, we wouldn’t be struggling with motivation in the first place. But hear me out, maybe it’s time to treat yourself to a little something-something. Promise yourself a nice reward once you’ve accomplished your goal. Whether it’s a sushi and movie night or a shopping spree, do what works for you. Just make sure the reward is worth the effort.

2. Make a to-do list: A to-do list is not only a great way to organize your thoughts, but it also gives you a sense of accomplishment as you tick off items one by one. Start with small tasks and work your way up to bigger ones. Before you know it, you’ll have tackled your entire list and the motivation to keep going will come naturally.

3. Watch a motivational speech: Sometimes all we need is a little pep talk to get us going. Unleash your inner Rocky Balboa and watch a motivational speech on YouTube. Who knows, maybe you’ll be inspired enough to run up a set of stairs, fists pumping in the air. I love doing this before a workout, or in the evening to keep me from having the late night snack attacks.

4. Surround yourself with positive and motivated people. As the saying goes, “You are the average of the five people you spend the most time with.” So choose wisely. This is so important, because if you’re already struggling, attaching yourself to others who are always the Debbie downers, the ice-cream getters, the late night intoxicators… well, that rest is history. I don’t say that to be judgemental- I say that as someone who had to break-free of those friends in order to find successes. Been there, done that.. and once you stop partaking, chances are, they stop texting anyway. You’ll see them with others on your social that’ll do the same things. It’s not a friendship, it’s a party position! Music plays ‘I want to be free… I want to break freeee’.

5. Drink coffee. Okay, hear me out on this one. Caffeine can give you a temporary burst of energy and focus. Plus, who doesn’t love the smell of a fresh cup of coffee in the morning? Not into coffee? Try a pre-workout. Please be careful here and speak to your doctor first! High blood pressure or health conditions will be a factor here- Again, consult your doctor 🙂

6. Lastly, remind yourself why you started. What was your initial motivation? Reconnecting with your why can help reignite that fire and get you back on track.

So there you have it. With these tips and a little bit of determination, you’ll be finding that motivation in no time.
