I’ve decided to do my progress updates on my blog instead of my website so that I can keep a record and you can see how things are changing.
The past two weeks have had some major changes, but this week hasn’t seen much numerical progress. However, I did lose 1.5 inches off my waist and another 1.5 off lower stomach, which is great news! I even fit into a smaller size pantaloon now. It felt good to throw out the bigger sizes and replace with the smaller size which is what I did this weekend.
I did track 7 out of 7 days, but some days I overate macros, and a day in there I ate like an asshole. It may have fit in my macros that day, but the food quality wasn’t there. ‘All that is permissable, isn’t always beneficial’. Quality foods in macros make the bigger picture. So I’m not upset about numbers not overly changing based on my attention to detail this week. I had fluctuated near the beginning of the week, so I’m glad it went back down near the end of the week with my changes.
I’m going through a period of change once again with my workout routine as I add new classes at the gym and work into my schedule. Although there’s consistency with Zumba, I modify my routine during the week based on how the day works itself out. I function better with a set schedule, so I’m planning out my time frames this week. I plan to be doing cardio for five to seven days a week and strength training for three days, but not specifically Metcon. I prefer strength training to balance out my cardio routine as it suits my goals better. I always tell people that if you are doing one workout a day- Metcon is the most bang for your buck because its everything in one, and so good for body fat dropping… but I instruct Zumba so that option of cutting out cardio isn’t there (and also- cardio and Zumba set my soul on fire so I’m keeping it). When I instruct Zumba, I actually burn more than I would doing any machine based cardio. 50 minutes, and I’m burning an average of 500 calories, while having fun!
Simply working out for the sake of it is nice, but it doesn’t align with my brain and goals which means my desired outcome will be working out with scheduled times.. not based out of emotion, other people’s agendas, or energy levels.
Cheers to adjusting sails, prioritizing goals, and making progress (regardless of what speed it’s at!)
See you next Sunday morning for another update,
-Christina
Great idea to share you journey. It makes it more real. I think I will start a journal to help me be more accountable. You are an inspiration.
